An innovative and creative design, the Seals Balance Pro is made of two elements: a body and Sympatex membrane. The body, made of a cup and an extension rib, is designed to be placed just behind the first curb of the auditory canal, purposely limiting pressure around the wall of the ear duct (meatus), offering a secure fit, comfort and waterproofness qualities. Once inserted in the ear, you will virtually forget about it, no more blocked ear feeling. The body is made of medical silicone, which is hypoallergenic, chlorine-proof, salt water-proof, water repellent and can withstand temperatures from -10C to 60C. The breathable and waterproof Sympatex membrane allows to maintain the hearing and balance capacities of the user, while protecting the ear from the external elements:

A secure fit and comfortable fit: The innovative design of Seals Balance Pro and its positioning in the auditory canal was specifically designed by surgeons to answer the unique needs of active participants aged 12 and over. The medical silicon (Silicone LSR) is hypoallergenic and offers optimal comfort and protection of the skin in the auditory canal. The flexible silicone body guarantees a secure fit of the protection, once it is placed behind the first curb of the auditory canal.

TESTED AND PROVEN
The Seals Balance Pro was tested both in a scientific protocol and in laboratory. A longitudinal study was conducted by the Bagatelle hospital in Bordeaux to measure and validate the impact of the Seals Balance Pro in the prevention and reduction of ear pathologies, in particular otitis and exostosis. The results, soon to be published in both La Revue Franaise Medicale (France) and the Laryngologist (US) clearly demonstrates the positive effect of the protection.

The Seals Balance Pro is the first ear protection to be medically tested and proven.

History
The Seals Balance Pro was developed by a group of surgeons in 2010 (under the brand name SORKY), as a solution to the ever-growing number of cases of exostosis in the South-West of France, home to a large population of watermen and surfers. Exostosis (commonly called surfer’s ear) is a ENT pathology causing an excessive growth of the bone in the auditory canal, resulting in deafness for the worst cases. It is caused by a repeated exposition to wind, cold and water. After a thorough study of the existing offer and interaction with people suffering exostosis, the surgeons came to the conclusion that there were no ear protection adapted to the pathology, and addressing the specific needs of the participants, in particular in terms of hearing and balance. Sorky (referring to Sorkuntza, the Basque word for innovation) was then developed to act as an artificial ear drum.
